The sky is falling!

Middle of the Night. Bob jumps up and yells, "What was that?" Me, wearing earplugs (since my husband snores), says, "I didn't hear anything." He attempts to suppress the assumed burglar, when he says, "Oh, no! The shelf of books in the office fell down." Well, I guess it was time to start packing up our books. Why does this stuff always happen in the middle of the night?

White Sweater

Okay, I need your help here people (and this is a good way to see who actually reads my blog or if I am just writing for my own entertainment-- which is fine too.) How important is a white sweater to a woman's wardrobe? I bought a white long sleeve sweater a while ago (not the one in this picture) and I ended up returning it because it was too preppy feeling. I thought if I just went with a 3/4 sleeve white sweater it would be better, so I bought one of those and I keep trying it on but still haven't worn it. I still feel it is a little preppy. I am into color right now and feeling that anything you could wear a white sweater with you could probably make cuter with a colorful sweater. Any thoughts from my more fashionable than me friends out there?

My class

I love my class this year. I actually enjoy going to work. This is one of those years that you could retire after and have great memories of teaching. Doesn't this face just say it all?

Motivation

I had to work on a take-home final yesterday. So while I was grocery shopping, I decided that I would need something to motivate me, to keep me going. Or at least be beautiful to look at when I wanted to distract myself. We all need those little rewards (can you hear the teacher in me talking here) to keep us moving. Well, these tulips did the trick. And now I will have them to look at all week! I love tulips. They remind me of my wedding.

Men should not wrap presents!

I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day to buy a wedding gift for a friend. I was excited when I remembered that they will wrap the gift for you because all I ever have at home is Christmas paper, which is not the best for weddings. When Bob and I picked this up from them, we laughed out loud because the man who did this disaster must have a horrible definition of wrapping a wedding gift. In case you can't tell from the picture, it is in a plastic bag with a bow (sort of) tied at the top. I thought I would just re-wrap it myself but it is so awful that I think I am going to leave it just for more laughs. Or to practice humility on my part. Sorry Erin & Trey, I hope you think it is funny :)

To work or not to work?

Last night Jennie called me to see if I could work for her today since she is feeling sick. This morning I woke up thinking that it feels really nice to go to work when you have actually chosen to. I got to decide that I wanted to go into work today. And the best part is that I am being paid as a sub to teach my own class!

Jobs in Kentucky!

Well I am still on the job search and somehow a page I was searching yesterday sent me to a district that showed it had 62 elementary openings. I was so excited until I saw that it was in Kentucky. So, if anyone is looking for a teaching job, there are plenty in Kentucky (and I hear they have good fried chicken too!)
