Uh-oh...
I think I am finally in that category of Americans that drink coffee everyday. However, I feel that I am still different because I don't drink it for the caffeine. At least I don't think. I drink decaf, which I know has a little caffeine, so I don't know if the underlying addiction is toward the minimal caffeine or not, but I tell myself it's not. I love the hot bitterness in the morning. The smell and that slight burning when it goes down your throat really wakes me up. My main problem is that it just doesn't stay hot enough long enough and I end up having to reheat it like 100 times. AND I am starting to become a coffee snob. I can tell the difference between good and bad coffee. Oh well, I guess there are worse things to consume every day.
I know I love ballet because...
1. I actually ironed my clothes (mind you, these are workout clothes) last week before I went. And if you know me, I NEVER iron. I even hate ironing my clothes to go to work.
2. I put my ballet shoes on and practice every time I wash dishes, since the kitchen floor is the best to practice on.
3. I stretch every day so that I can hopefully get my splits someday.
4. I attempt to match my clothes when I go.
5. I dance every time music comes on!

I am a ballerina.
I am officially a ballerina. Well, I have started taking ballet classes. I have wanted to for years. The last time I did ballet I was five, so needless to say I remember NOTHING. Last week I was elated when my dance teacher told me I had a great left leap (just what I always wanted). And that I am half an inch closer to being able to doing the splits. Apparently everyone can do the splits if they just stretch enough. That remains yet to be seen. I am thankful that we have a linoleum kitchen floor because I get to practice while I am washing dishes. I tried to practice on the carpet but it isn't good for your shoes. And my husband is so encouraging which is great! I know I will never be a prima ballerina but it is still fun pretending!
I just hope I look (or will look) like this.

Family Girl Time
One thing I have loved about growing up is that you really learn things about your family. When you can start to have adult relationships with your mom, aunts, and cousins it becomes more of a friendship than anything else. Last night I had a great time with some girls in my family including my cousin Stacy who I haven't seen in 5 years! How much we grow up even in that time. It was such a blessing to relate to these people as all women instead of us being little kids. Yeah for family frienships!

Ollie-- our goddog
This is precious (and devious) Ollie. We were officially named his godparents by our friend Sarah. We got to take care of him a few days this week while she went on a retreat. We went to the beach with him which was a really fun idea until he swam across the river jetty to get to the other dogs. He had a fun time playing while we tried to get him back and worried if we were going to have to do some swimming. Eventually he came back again and we resumed our good time until we got in the car and he decided to roll around all over the back seat. I am still vacuuming and lint rolling the darn car! I guess he makes it so that you don't forget him even when he leaves. Bob and Ollie had an especially cute attachment and Ollie would follow him around the house, but when it was just me, Ollie didn't follow but positioned himself on the couch that I told him NOT to get on numerous times. I finally got so sick of going in there an seeing him on the couch that I just ignored it. I know, I am going to be a horrible mother, can't stick to my No's. Anyway, we had a great time with our goddog!

Comfort Food
So I got some (well a lot) of dental work done this past week-- don't ask, it's a very sensitive subject. And when I am feeling I need comfort I somehow always go to childhood foods that I never eat otherwise. Cream of Wheat. Okay, so this is Fresh & Easy's version but it is just what I was near. Does anyone else have fond memories of Cream of Wheat?
And what can beat chocolate pudding-- it is like food from the gods. However, similar to hot dogs, it is one of those foods that you absolutely cannot look at the ingredient label or you will not want to eat it. And that would ruin the fun and comfort. So instead I just ripped of the label (after taking this picture which actually shows all the scary ingredients if you look hard enough) and spoon-fed myself into oblivion. Manufactured foods--scary, but oh so comforting.

Sooo long!
Okay, so let's just say I have been busy...and unmotivated... for a while. We have had a lot going on and blogging wasn't on my list of priorities. However, I have been wanting to post and keep up with it once we decided to move to Atlanta, so I thought I would start now! We will be moving in July. Bob starts school in August and I am still applying (and praying hard) for a teaching job. Keep us in your prayers. Here are some pictures.
These are the apartments we are hoping to move into. They are right on the Chattahoochee (so fun to say and write) River. "It is a fisherman's dream," says Bob, and he is a fisherman you know. I guess people fly fish and kayak here all the time. I think I might become a real outdoorswoman.
The apartment complex also has this neat coffee shop where all the proceeds go to the women in Darfur whose husbands have died in war. They have fun things here weekly like poker night and open mic night. We are really hoping to live here! And it is only 5 minutes away from Bob's school. We will definitely have to become Braves fans!
We are getting a 2 bedroom apartment so people can visit! Start planning your trip now people, but remember it is humid in the summer! My only consolation is that if 80's clothes are coming back, maybe 80's hair is too and my humidity hair will fit right in!
