trees

There is something so deeply spiritual about a tree. You cannot look at one without thinking about how much it represents life, growth, and hope. A strong tree leaves me feeling peaceful, and to think that they all started so weak and small.

I especially like flowering trees with bright yellows, oranges, pinks, or even white. God's creativity is so amazing and there is nothing so beautiful as nature. This is a tree in Carpinteria that caught my eye.

Jamie, your post reminds me a poem I learned earlier this Summer, and that went through my head often on my backpacking trip:

Trees
by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast

A tree who looks to God all day
And lifts her leafy arms to pray

A tree who may in Summer wear
A nest of Robins in her hair

Upon whose bosom snow has lain
Who intimately lives with rain

Poems are made by fools like me
But only God can make a tree
